Choosing the right replacement
Backset is the distance from the door edge to the centre of the spindle or cylinder. A matching backset alone does not confirm that a replacement will fit. We also check the lock case, faceplate, fixing positions, handles, cylinder and how the door needs to operate.
Send photos of the door edge and both faces of the door for an initial assessment. For fire doors or exit doors, tell us the door’s purpose so we can check the complete hardware arrangement.
